 I then placed my handmade pattern on the fabric and cut it out
after cutting it out I used saftey pins to hold it in so I would be able to sew them together
 
                                
I then hammered the holes using a hammer and eyelids 

 
I did the same thing for the other half 

 

If I were to make this again I would make the 2 wings equal and adding more clean edges. I would also create holes like the ones at the top of the butterfly wings. Make these tops I have learnt how to make holes using eyelids and a hammer.
