3D final outcome Research

In my own research I found out that the butterfly top was originally inspired by Cher's butterfly look which she wore to the grammy's in 1974, she wore this top along side a matching a hairclip. The top came back in the early 2000s appearing on the red carpet but in a better design as seen on Mariah Carey.

Emmanuel Ungaro was the famous designer behind this recreation look. He showcased this embedded butterfly top in his 2000 haute couture spring runway show. He used this design in different forms on the runway. This piece was a perfect blend of creativity and elegance, showcasing Ungaro's incredible design skills. The butterfly top featured intricate embroidery with vibrant colors that made it look like a piece of art. the top had a beautiful use of appliqué, where fabric pieces were sewn onto the base material to create the butterfly design. The embroidery was exquisite, with fine stitching that added depth and texture to the butterfly wings. The top also had a peplum, a flared strip of fabric attached at the waist, which added a playful yet sophisticated silhouette. The silhouette was particularly noteworthy. The peplum created an hourglass shape, highlighting the waist and adding volume to the hips. This contrasted beautifully with the fitted bodice, showing off a mix of structure and flow. The color palette was vibrant yet balanced, making the butterfly motif pop without being overwhelming.
