Lawrence Roach popularly known as Law Roach is an american fashion designer and stylist,I love Law Rouach, because of his sense of style and fashion has truly inspired me. His ability to blend different elements and create stunning outfits is amazing and so inspiring . Law Roach retired on the 14th of march and has now become an editor of British Vogue and has been working with big names like Zendaya, Megan Thee Stallion, Tom Holland, Hunter Schafer, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, and Kerry Washington (Street, 2023)  I've decided to create my own collection of outfits for a festival, The festival of a new day as I like to call it.

zendaya and Law- fashion awards

Out of all his work this one on Zendaya really stood out to me, I like this design because of how he played with proportions and size. The layered fabric skirt seating on her waist overlaying the long skirt is a style I would like to incorporate in my design.  Out of all his designs this one is my favorite because of how simple it is but yet so loud, it shows that any simple design can stand out it just has to have the right color, and right proportions. Roach’s impact on fashion shows in the winner’s circle at this year’s CFDA Awards. (Okwodu, 2021)

Thierry Mugler is a French fashion designer who is known for his unique approach to fashion. He started his brand, Mugler, in the 1970s and quickly gained recognition for his bold and aesthetic  designs.Born in Strasbourg, France, in 1948, he showed an early interest in fashion. He studied dance and interior design before moving to Paris to pursue his passion for fashion. In the late 1960s, he began working as a freelance designer, creating designs for various fashion houses. In 1974, Mugler launched his brand, which quickly made noise in the fashion industry. His designs inspire me because of the exaggerated proportions, and futuristic aesthetic. His theatrical, groundbreaking designs were primarily inspired by 1940s and 1950s glamour and the silhouettes of those decades, often being instantly recognisable as his work thanks to exaggerated shoulders and hips, constricted waists and sculptural, futuristic bodices.( tribute to Thierry Mugler)

This look by Mugler is very influential to one of my designs, as this look distorts/ rearranges the proportions of a what seems to be a bird. This look really inspired one of my designs in my collection because i wanted to bring elements of spring and i choose a butterfly dress, I executed the same technique he used in distortion to design mine. I placed the wings of the butterfly at the front of the dress and at the back, the eyes of the butterfly are the breast plates and the feet are wrapped around her waist. In his design above I live the incorporation of a head piece and I think I will do the same for my design, to give it a full look and make it feel complete.

Fifty years of fashion and design, Master of chic, minimalist and patron.

Pierre Cardin born to an italian family on 2nd july 1992, was an italian designer, costume maker, stylist and so on.

Pierre Cardin was a well known workaholic, in his eyes 2 working days, equal 35 hours he works tirelessly

because of how much he loves his business. Pierre started his career as an apprentice for designers such as

Jeanne Paquin, Elsa Schiapareli and Christian Dior. After his realization that he wants to make a name for

himself he started his business in 1953. Breaking records and breaking rules Cardin introduced his

‘bubble dress' which left the masses speechless because it was not of Haute couture standards. Shortly after this

stunt he bought out his first ready to wear collection called ‘pret-a-porter’. After this collection he got banned

from the haute couture olympics in 1960, but he didn't let that stop him.He was one of the first designers to

license his name for a wide range of products, including accessories, furniture, and even automobiles.

This made him a pioneer in the world of fashion branding. He incorporated geometric shapes, bold colors,

and unconventional materials into his creations, making a lasting impact on the industry.Cardin was also involved

in supporting young designers and artists, and he even purchased and restored historical buildings in France.

This dress is drawn from one of my favorite collections by him, this collection is called flowers, Drawing his inspiration from the world around him, Mr. Pierre Cardin gives an important place to nature, its curves and bright colors. From dresses to hats, through the fragrance "Rose Cardin", he takes us into the sunny days of spring. ("Flowers") I really took inspiration from the whole collection but this one stood out to me because of the way the roses are incorporated at the sides of her dress to give a very feminine silhouette, the  high gloves ties the whole look together as it compliments the length of the dress. Because of this i have decided to add gloves to one of my designs seeing the fact that most of them are very short dresses, when adding the gloves it will tie the whole look together
