Reflection

Reflecting on my experience with the art portfolio subject I have tried so many things. Learning to work with wood, plastics, and clay was like unlocking new levels of creativity I didn't know I had. Each material had its unique texture and possibilities, which was fascinating. I loved the experience of molding clay, the cutting and using of machines in woodworking, and the sculpting of plastics. They all challenged me in different ways, pushing me to think about how I wanted my final 3D project to be. In this term I have researched artists I did not know before and i have found out new styles with design in different cultures

In my final project, I combined all three materials to showcase what I had learned. The wood provided a sturdy base, the clay added an earthy touch, and the plastics offered a smooth finish. It was really a reflection of the skills I had learned during the course. Although all went well, during the course of the term i was faced with challenges such as cutting wood in a straight line, creating the research for site and demographics,, and molding mini vases using clay, I overcame these challenges by using the metal tool to help me cut out straight lines on the wood, Naomi showed me tricks in which i could use to create mini vases and I had corrections on my research from Zoe which I took.

This term has been a road of ups and downs but I am focused on the things I learned and not the mistakes I made.
