object lesson

   The object that i chose was an old metallic watch. This object has been kept for a long time seeing that the shine in the metal has gone and the watch has not been polished, there are some scratchings on the body of the watch, and some cracks at the top of the glass placed above where the time is. I picked this watch because watches remind me there's a time for everything.



 
This is an image of the watch i choose.


The image above shows what I have re-imagined the watch to be. I have used the shape of the watch to form new objects, above i have sketched a wall, a center piece, a wall clock, plant vase, a lamp, table and chair. I choose household items because i wanted to sketch things you will see in a room, I wanted to relate this to my interior design.

    Good, you understood the task well. You have been able to think creatively about the object and apply it to your specialism. Can you develop any of these ideas in relation to your final design? The ideas work is great, but the photo could be better, could you re-take it without the shadow? And post it the right way up?
