Website Research
This website research will assist me in understanding how to create my own website so I will consider the overall design, colours, and typography, navigation, usability/user-friendliness, links and mobile view.
I will begin with HOME | Kelly Hoppen CBE (kellyhoppeninteriors.com) I will begin with the homepage, from first glance at the website I apricate the fact you can tell she is an interior designer. I love the change of images from when the website is open , showing various images of her work, I found that very creative. I like how these various images show how flexible she can be in creating a design, going from black and white to rainbow colours.
The homepage navigation seats above the website, its easy to read and when clicked it gives you options which rest under the topic. I found that very useful as she has made it easy for the reader to navigate.
I do like the about page, when i clicked on it , it gave me options such as; About, Careers and News.
I found the about page very simple but very satisficing, there was so much to read but the texts were placed behind a white backdrop which made the texts standout and nothing to distract me away from reading the texts.
Finally, when I clicked on interiors i was also presented with options such as; Residencial, commercial, outside spaces, works in progress. I found that extremely satisfying and making it easy for the reader to see her works. I clicked on Residencial and the images were properly arranged in 4 by 5. When i clicked on an image it took me a different page showing me the rooms in that building.
I found this website very easy to use, one information gathered so many other information's. It was easy to navigate through and the images were clear. I would like to make my website home page similar to hers. I would add a variation of my works so the reader will be able to glance through before reading the rest.
My next website is Kengo Kuma and Associates – Tokyo, Paris, Beijing and Shanghai (kkaa.co.jp) I found this website interesting , the images on the website slowly changed giving to time to look at it. When I tapped on the image a drop box appeared showing me all the information about that building/room I found that very interesting and efficient.
When i tapped on the image i scrolled down and saw different images of the building which i choose
Nothing really festinating about the about page image wise, but i liked the fact it showed his history and years in front of them which i saw under this biography. It showed his teaching and professions, under that it showed his main works right after that it showed his awards and so on.
When i clicked on projects i was presented with all this projects, at the top there was an options to easly find what your lookig for, the option consisted of location, area, statues and sizes, i found that creative. and i will love to see that on other websites including mine. I also like how the logo stayed consistent on every page.
The navigation bar is seating at the right top side of the website, it is presented in a simple font, it was hard to find at first because its written in black and it lays on top of the changing images some of the images are dark so I could not really find it.
The first website, the slideshow were easy to change unlike the second website which i had to wait to see the next picture. I liked the about in the first website but i would go with the second website because it showed more details about him and more contexts were given. Overall i would go with the first website just because it had more pictures, it was easy to use and the overall experience easy and welcoming .

Okay you have com[pared the two websites with some technical detail but remember you should have also been thinking about your won website design
