Website feedback and UX testing

Image
I have created a google form with questions to test my website. I have embedded the form to my navigation bar. And then published my website. My address was shared to the group so that they can check out my website and answer the question. In this post I will be analyzing the feedback and explaining my response to it. I got a total of 6 responses.  For my homepage the votes where mainly based on wonderful and good. I am ok with this results and i think my homepage is fine as it is for now, I don't see myself making any changes in the future.   For my navigation all the voters found it to be absolutely good. I found my navigation good as well although I had to change the backdrop image to add more colours to it on the mobile view. I also had to rearrange the navigation bar on my mobile view.  Majority of the voters found my about page to be satisfactory, and others need more information on it. I will have to give my about page another read and see what can be a...

Design Board : Salon client Area.

Image
To make this design board I have used Photoshop. I started off my making a blank canvas for my board.  After that I made my canvas white using the paint tool in the middle of the tool bar at the left. Then I started to add my objects for my Design board.   Using the file tab I used the pick tool  to get the objects from the tap onto the board.  After dragging the objects unto the board using the pick tool I decided to make another page to crop the objects I was not satisfied with the size.    I then rearranged the whole thing using crop and added my text.  Final work.  The I have done the same thing with the waiting room  I Cropped the couch using the crop tool on another page then i dragged it using the drag tool, from the first tab to the second one.  I have then imported the materials from file using import image.  Final result.

Homes by me; Nailed it salon

Image
I started my design by laying down my floor plan, I have reserched the average size of a nail salon, Although my my salon is not the exact measurement shown on goggle, I have approximated it, All i did was add a little more space.   I started of with my first design but as time went on i changed it , the image above shows the design i originally started with.  Another image of the idea I originally started with, I changed this idea because I saw i was not making a nail salon, insteed I was making a hair salon, I was also exposed to the style of japandi which I was inspired by Kengo Kuma.   Starting again, I designed to incopporate the designs i was inspired by Kengo Kuma. I started to use japandi and minimal designs for the salon.  I then painted the walls a warm pink, and added the furniture and lighting.  I did not want to leave the side of the walls empty so I have added furniture and flowers to bring the space to life.  After completing ...

Website Evaluation

Website Evaluation  Planning stage: What were your initial ideas for creating a website? style / name / template     I created this website to showcase my love for interior design, It is a platform were I can share my work. I chose a style that would go with my style of interior design, for the name I chose to use Marvin, my name, because i like the meaning. I picked a template i felt with correspond really well with my designs.  Do you have a tagline on your website?  No I do not have a tagline on my website.  Research: Which designers / artists (relevant to your continuation route) websites did you look for inspiration?  I looked at  Kelly Hoppen because I like her use of clean lines. I also looked at Kengo Kuma because of his minimalistic designs and his use of a limited color palette. I feel these two designers works really helped me to structure how i wanted my website to look.  How many pages did you want to make on your webs...

Further Research: teruhiro yanagihara

Image
For my final project I will be looking at Teruhiro Yanagihara work. He is a Japanese Architect who uses japandi style to create these minimalistic designs, his known for his attention to detail. I will use Teruhiro's work because his Japandi designs beautifully blend with a modern minimalistic aesthetic. I would like to incorporate his designs in my project such as, His use for raw natural materials, his ability to pay attention to details to create a calm serene environment and his combination of japandi with a modern style.. His projects cross boundaries and cultures to form encounters between contemporary design, industries and Japanese crafts . ( Teruhiro Yanagihara ND).  I will like to incorporate the way he uses natural materials in his designs because they give simplicity to the environment and it provides a connection with nature. From the image below Teruhiro has used materials such as stone, soil, terrazzo and iron. He has incorporated nature element like the tree seat...
