Initial Research: John Pawson

For my Interior design Project, I will be designing a Nail salon. Therefore, I am looking at the designs of John Pawson's Calvin Klein minimalistic Store. I am looking at his design because his designs perfectly embodies the essence of simplicity and clean lines that i am hoping to use in my design. The image below shows how he creates an elegant atmosphere that is both modern and inviting. I love his use of natural materials, such as "honey- coloured Yorkstone flags, thick white walls with tight openings and benches that appear variously to float or to extrude from the floor."(John Pawson ND).The aesthetic simplicity not only makes the space visually appealing but it also creates a welcoming and inviting atmosphere . John Pawson's attention to detail has also made the layout of the room good for customer's to move around freely.

the store is divided into distinct areas, each designed to create a unique shopping experience. The entrance zone sets the tone with its clean lines and carefully chosen material's. it welcomes the customer with a calm and elegant atmosphere and two pillars with a short staircase drawing the customer further into the store. it radiates the sense of modern elegance. the minimalistic aesthetic draws the the customers into the bags , and this is the impact I'll love to show in my nail salon.

 As you see in the image below you'd see the display zones "is to create a charged container for objects, but also a spatial narrative that enhances the experience of architectural proportion" (John Pawson ND). The minimalistic aesthetic allows the bags to stand out. The spaces are designed to provide comfort with soft lighting and elegant finishes.

  Pierre Cardin "flowers"   This dress is drawn from one of my favorite collections by him, this collection is called flowers,   Drawing his inspiration from the world around him, Mr. Pierre Cardin gives an important place to nature, its curves and bright colors. From dresses to hats, through the fragrance "Rose Cardin", he takes us into the sunny days of spring.   ( "Flowers" ) This dress features geometric patterns, asymmetrical silhouettes, and exaggerated proportions. He wanted to add a feminine touch to his designs that is why 2 bold roses seat on each side of her waist.The high gloves ties the whole look together as it compliments the length of the dress. mugler ready to wear 1992 Taking inspiration from drag race and using a drag queen as a muse, Mugler introduced Connie Felmming to model this piece.
